Question
How often should I groom my dog?
Answer
Most dogs need to be groomed every 4 - 6 weeks. Labs and short coated dogs can go 6 weeks. Doodles, Bichon, Maltese, Terriers, etc. should be groomed every 4 and no more than every 6 weeks, if you desire a long coat on them, every 4 weeks is best. You can have your dog bathed up to once a week without drying out their skin.
Question
I have a new puppy, what are the requirements?
Answer
Please provide proof of the Bordetella vaccine given by your pet’s vet. Vaccine documentation must be verified before booking an appointment. As puppies are still new to grooming, we will have to initially start with a simple “clean up” hair cut. Full haircuts can be overwhelming for a young puppy therefore, it is important to introduce the grooming process slowly.
Question
I have a senior pet. What should I do?
Answer
12 years and older pets would require their owners to wait at the shop for 15-20 mins to ensure safe grooming for the pets. As senior pets require a little extra attention, we want to make sure both the pet and groomer feel comfortable before being groomed.
Question
How much do you charge?
Answer
The price varies from breed to breed, and of course the style of cut desired also may change the price.
Question
My dog may bite will you groom him/her?
Answer
Yes, we will always try to groom every dog. We have had great success grooming dogs that were once “banned” from other shops. We first take the time to make them feel comfortable with us and will do only what they allow us to do. Usually, by the 3rd or 4th visit, we can successfully complete the full grooming process.
Question
How long does a grooming session take?
Answer
That too depends on the type of dog and what style is wanted. Smaller cuts usually take about 3 hours, larger cuts can last up to 4 hours. But of course, if you need your pet in and out quickly, we can always accommodate. In this case, we would need prior notice so we can plan accordingly to get your pet out in time. There is an express charge for the quicker grooming process. During holiday seasons, please allow for extra time, due to the higher volume of customers.
Question
Do I need to make an appointment?
Answer
Making an appointment is the best way and most efficient way for everyone. We can schedule a time so that no dog is at the salon for too long. Walk-ins would still be taken in, but would not have the guarantee of having their dog finished with their grooming within a 3 hour time span.
